Ego: The Snake In The Garden Of Your Heart
When we find we are disconnected we may want to look for outside influences, but this proves to be a fruitless search. This disconnectedness we feel is a result of the snake in the garden of our own hearts, our ego. Each person is responsible for their own connectedness with God and with others. We look to the outside for fulfillment but instead we are told by God to, “ Be still and know that I am God.” Psalm 56:10a. Our ego is the enemy from within using fear and lies to keep us disconnected. We need to take an inventory regularly of our actions to know if we are listening to our ego or to God. The questions we ask ourselves will guide us in
being sure we are living to full capacity.
