Omnipotent God

Glenda Lawing   -

God is omnipotent (all-powerful). What God’s omnipotence means is He can do what He wills to do. Psalms 135:6 says, “Whatever the LORD pleases, He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.”

We serve a God of supreme powers: a God at hand, and not a faraway God. He is all-knowing and ever-present. Nothing slips by Him. He does not go to bed at night and sleep; He is everywhere at the same time. He inhabits His entire creation. He knows each and every one of His children personally. Matthew 10:30 says that, “Even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Psalm 139:1-3 says, You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.

I tested positive for COVID in February. I had no symptoms and only got tested because my son was feeling ill and tested positive. I didn’t know what to expect down the road, but this is what I prayed to my Father, Father, whatever happens while I’m going through this virus, I can do it as long as You are walking with me.

This has been my mantra for some time now. I know without a shadow of doubt that the Lord loves me.  I expect to go through hardships. Matthew 5:45 says, He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.Just because you are a child of God does not mean that you won’t go through hardships. What it does mean is that you know that regardless of the reasons for the difficulties and/or adversity the Lord will help you through it.

The difficulty is not here to stay and Jehovah-jireh, the Lord God our provider, has a purpose for it and will provide through it. James 1:2-4 says, Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Sure, there are times when trials come back-to-back and I just want to say, That’s OK Lord I don’t want any more trials; I’m fine just like I am.but I know that God knows best. He is omnipotent and His will shall be done. He says in Isaiah 41:10 to Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.Amen. He said it and I believe every promise He has promised.

So I pray, “Heavenly Father, thank you for allowing me to Love Well. Live Jesus and Believe Big. I thank You for the relationship I am building with You. I thank you that You are a forgiving God. I thank you that where we are now does not determine our destinies. You do! I am eternally grateful that nothing can snatch your love from me. I touch on, and am in agreement with, everything You have in store for me, because You are the potter and I am the clay.  As Your word says in Genesis 2:7, ‘The LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into His nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.’ Amen”

Our God is invincible in power and full of mercy and grace.
