If You Want Christ’s Life, You Get Christ’s Death
We all have a picture in our minds of what it’s like to be a “good” Christian, and we know that we should try to be like Jesus. The problem is, it’s not that easy, and we have a hard time giving up ALL the things we’re called to yield to Christ. But to be fully alive in Christ, we must die to ourselves and our worldly desires. To gain an eternal life, we need to give up a temporary world. Once we joyfully belong to God’s eternal kingdom, then the finite things of this world will become less important to us. The thing is, we can’t live on the fence. We must live in our world or in God’s. And the only way to live in God’s world is to completely yield our own.
