How To Avoid Missing The Jesus Staring You In The Face
Just like the Pharisees who completely missed God even though he was right in front of them, we too often miss Jesus even though he’s there daily in our lives. Satan is often referred to as the Great Deceiver, and this is a name that he has rightly earned. He will stop at nothing to keep us looking at everything else but Jesus. He uses people, pain, and even religion to keep our eyes off what matters most. When we get distracted in this way, our response tends to be fearful of the things that happen to us. But, when we focus on Jesus, we stay faithful and are filled with hope and love. In Matthew 14, Peter walked on water for just a moment because he focused on Jesus. He literally walked on water! But, then he got distracted and instantly began to sink. We must not be like Peter. We must have extreme focus, for only then will true clarity be found.
