Mark Isaacs, The Church at Severn Run’s Kids Ministry Director, recently shared a message emphasizing the importance of raising our children in the faith. Our children represent the future face of Christianity, and it is our responsibility to ensure that they grow up with a strong foundation in the Word of God. This is why and how our children represent the future of Christianity and why it is essential to raise them in the faith.

Our children are the future face of Christianity because they will be the ones who carry the torch of the faith forward. In Matthew 19:14, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” Children are a precious gift from God, and they have a natural inclination towards faith. They are curious, open-minded, and trusting, which makes them excellent candidates for learning about God’s love and grace. If we raise our children in the faith, they will be equipped with the tools they need to spread the gospel and make a difference in the world.

Raising our children in the faith is essential because it provides them with a solid foundation for their lives. In Proverbs 22:6, it says, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Children are like sponges, and they soak up everything around them. If we surround them with the Word of God and teach them to live according to His will, they will be better equipped to face life’s challenges. They will have a sense of purpose and direction that will guide them throughout their lives. They will also be better able to resist the temptations of the world and stay on the path of righteousness.

Finally, raising our children in the faith is important because it helps to ensure the continuation of the Christian tradition. In Deuteronomy 6:6-7, it says, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” The Christian faith has been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years, and it is our responsibility to continue that tradition. By raising our children in the faith, we ensure that they will carry on the legacy of our ancestors and pass it down to their own children and grandchildren.

Our children represent the future of Christianity, and it is essential to raise them in the faith. By doing so, we equip them with the tools they need to spread the gospel, provide them with a solid foundation for their lives, and ensure the continuation of the Christian tradition. As parents, grandparents, and caregivers, we have a responsibility to teach our children about God’s love and grace, to surround them with the Word of God, and to lead by example. In doing so, we not only ensure the future of Christianity but also give our children the best possible start in life.
