In the Lord’s Hands

Glenda Lawing   -

It is my belief that as humans it is our nature to want to be in control of our own lives. Afterall, it is our own lives, right? But when you think about it, it is crazy to think in such a way. Because our lives are not our own. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So, glorify God in your body.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20.When we pull away from God, the vine, and try to do it our own way, we expose ourselves to stress, uncertainty and even danger. When we recognize Jesus as our vine, we understand our dependence on Him for spiritual nourishment and strength to get through each second of each day. You are only fooling yourself if you think you are doing anything on your own.

By recognizing Jesus as the vine, we understand our dependence on Him for spiritual nourishment and strength. When we stay connected to Jesus, we can expect abundant life and the ability to produce good fruit in our lives. It reminds us that we cannot stand alone; our vitality comes from our relationship with Christ, and He is always working in the background on behalf of His children. There have been times in my life when I felt as if a trial were a setback, but they always turned out to be set-ups tailored just for me by my Father who has a plan for all our lives. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” This is a verse that I have been playing over in my mind, daily now. It soothes me ahead of challenges. I remember what it says so that I can feel the promise that it says of peace. I am praying to my higher power for assistance, guidance, protection, and forgiveness. I am seeking His intervention, and blessings to make my efforts successful. Because I need the Lords blessing and cannot do anything the right way without it.

Prayer: Thank you, Jesus, for calming my fears, giving me direction and being just who you say you are. You are, “God, and there is no other; You are God, and there is none like You. You make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. You say, Your purpose will stand, and You will do all that You please.’” Isaiah 46:10. I trust in your sovereignty. I trust you more than I trust in myself. Because nothing happens in my life that You Lord do not already know about and have complete control over. May I all walk forward casting all My anxieties on you. Thank you for inviting me to exchange anxiety and worry for God’s peace. I have witnessed you turn my trials into testimony! I know this even though my flesh wants to combat this truth with doubt, fear, and worries. So, Jesus, thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to act in the same part and bearing the same flame of an advocate and comforter. I love you, Amen.
