Pastor Drew Shofner has shared his plans to begin a transition into retirement. This transition will happen intentionally and gradually, guided by a professional process that has been put in place. This has been an earnest and prayerful decision. Pastor Drew is a beloved pastor and leader to thousands of families, making a kingdom impact that will be felt for years to come. This transition marks a new chapter in his journey of faithful ministry and compassionate care. We love Pastor Drew and Marcia and we trust that this is the right time for them to be together, to care for each other, and to be richly blessed in the next season of their life together. We support their decision, and we truly believe that God is doing good things in their lives and in our church.

The Pastoral Candidate - Pastor Jared Burwell

The Pastor Selection Team has been faithfully and diligently seeking God’s guidance in discerning the next great pastor of The Church at Severn Run. We are excited to share that God has revealed His choice to the team, and they have unanimously supported a candidate. We are moving forward with Pastor Jared Burwell in view of a call. As part of this process, Pastor Jared will be preaching here at Severn Run on Sunday, March 1st at both services as part of a special Business Meeting. All active members of the congregation will have the opportunity to vote either “yes” or “no” on the candidate, affirming his call to become our next Lead Pastor. Ballots will be distributed and collected during the 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM services that Sunday. Voting will close at 12:30 PM.
