Jesus is the exact representation of His being!

The son is the radiance of Gods glory

Hebrews 1:3 says, "The son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of His being." This glory that you long for, that you cannot find in sexuality or material things. The glory that you cannot find in the affirmation and applause of other broken people. This glory that we seek, is to be connected to the glory of God Himself!

Jesus is the exact representation of His being!

So when we see Jesus, we say "That is what God is like!" When we wonder if God is this vengeful God, intending to crush us and rub our faces in our mess, we look at Jesus and we see Him love the woman taken into adultery. We see Jesus lift her up and say "Just go, and sin no more." (John 8:1-11

We see Jesus walking among broken people, touching them and healing them and wrapping His arms around them. We see Jesus going out of His way, inconveniencing Himself to be with people who don't know what God's face looks like, and when they saw Jesus, then they have seen the face of God!

God's ultimate plan of revelation is to send His child into a light-less world.

You are the child that God is sending into a broken world!

I am the child that God is sending into a broken world!

We are to go as Jesus went and we are to walk out of our way and we are not to live self concerned and self consumed!

All of our significance has been gifted by grace. All of our identity has been affirmed by God, so we are free! Now, instead of pushing our own agendas, we have died with Christ and we have allowed God to reveal, to His world, what love looks like through His child! -Dr. Drew Shofner

What do You Have? (The Road Ahead)

what do you have

What do you have? There's a whole lot of us here who say "I've got nothing." I just want to say you're so wrong! God has given you His heart, you have the greatness of the image of the creator inside of you! With purpose, He designed you! He created you and called you to give yourself and to pour yourself out into the world in a way that would reveal His power and greatness and that would reveal in your life; Nothing is impossible with God!

In all that you lack, that focus will take you into depression, into captivity and passivity and into nothingness! But when you shift your focus and you look at what you do have, then the answer is "God, I will give everything to you, the God who has given everything for me!" How dare you live a small life! How dare you look at everything God has given you and say this is not enough!

God is good, and He has loved you with an everlasting love! You are a unique expression of the creativity and the image of God on earth; how dare you live a small, shrinking back, self-hating life? Whatever I've got I'm giving it to God, I don't compare myself to other people! How dare you believe that God cannot overcome our obstacles! How dare you believe that God isn't enough for you and that we cannot change the world! - Dr. Drew Shofner

What we dare to imagine determines our future!

what we dare to imagine

I want us to imagine the road ahead because the truth is we need to redeem our imaginations! The word redeem is a critical word that has to do with 'buying back.' To redeem something means to turn it around, to make it right. It means for God to touch it and to move it from dark to light, from broken to whole, from bad to good.

We were created in the image of God and a part of the power of our image is the imagination. It is the ability to see, in our minds, possibilities and to act on those possibilities. The simple truth is most of us here have allowed our imaginations to be run by the destructive agenda of hell more than the redeeming agenda of heaven. Our imaginations become the playground of all kinds of fearful, lightless, lustful, hopeless and failure-filled futures all because we do not have a mind filled with Christ!

In Isaiah 65:2, here is the heart of God saying "All day long I have held out my hand to an obstinate people who walk in ways not good, pursuing their imaginations." You and I pursue our imaginations all the time; it's how we live. But if we can redeem our imaginations and buy them back from hell, and see a future that is hopeful and touched by the hand of God; fear goes, peace comes, and the course of our actions are redirected!

1 Corinthians 2:16 says that when God redeems us, we have the mind of Christ. We get our minds back! Guys, I'm asking you in the name of Jesus to reclaim your imagination. It isn't the playground for pornography. It isn't the playground for fear to do its work. It isn't the playground for revenge or getting back at people. Our imagination is a part of our creation that ought to be redeemed. The imagination is the heart of our humanity, and we need to get it back. If we will reclaim our God given imaginations and allow God to use our imaginations seeing and building the Kingdom of God in our homes, in our communities, in our schools, in our church; everything changes!  -Dr. Drew Shofner
