VBS 2017 - Galactic Starveyors!
This year we will have TWO weeks of VBS fun broken down into smaller age ranges so that each Severn Run kid can have even more fun!
July 10-13, 5-7 Year Olds
July 17-20, 8-12 Year Olds
9:00 AM to Noon
We will focus our telescopes on the marvels painted in the sky by the Creator, and discover the wonder among all wonders – that the God who created everything is there. Let's go to the clubhouse and find the God who is over the moon in love with you!
FAQs About VBS at Severn Run:
The registration form won't let me select my child's age group. Why is that?
Unfortunately we have limited spaces in each age group. If you are unable to select your child's age group, it is because that group is full.
I have a 5 year old and a 9 year old, do they really need to attend separate weeks of VBS?
Yes. We're working really hard to tailor each week to the needs of the specific age groups included. If your 9 year old tries to go to the 5-7 year old week, there won't be an appropriate class for him/her. We know this can be hard on siblings, but it will be an awesome experience and will allow more kids to experience the greatness of VBS!
I'm concerned about my child's safety in such a large environment. How do you ensure they are cared for?
We take security seriously at Severn Run! When you check in you will receive a sticker with a unique code each day, this directly corresponds to a code that is printed on your child's name sticker for the day. Only parents or guardians with the security sticker are allowed to pick-up a child at the end of the day. During our VBS activities, kids remain in small groups with teachers and assistants. Teachers are trained on how to securely care for and keep track of each child in their care. We tend to stick to a ratio of 5 kids to each helper.
My child has food allergies. How can I ensure they will not get snacks that will harm them?
When you register there is a place for you to list any allergies your child may have. Your child's small group teacher and the snack team will be informed of your child's allergy and alternative snacks are provided for them so they are not left out when it comes to snack time.
My child is in a wheelchair, or on crutches. Can they participate?
Of course! Our campus is totally equipped with all ADA requirements and we are ready to love your child well.

Did you know that most people who choose to follow Jesus do so before they graduate high school? This is why we think kid's ministry is so important here at Severn Run, and why VBS is one of the most important week, now two weeks, of our year!
You can serve at VBS as long as you are in middle school or older. You can be a seasoned veteran who has served at many VBS weeks in the past, or you can try it out for the first time ever this summer! The great thing is that we provide specific training for you and our week here at Severn Run that will make you a VBS pro.
Find jobs up on stage, behind the scenes, or somewhere in between. We will be posting a handy job descriptions guide here on this page soon, so check back if you need more info.

FAQs About Serving:
I have younger kids that need care during VBS. Is there somewhere for them to go?
Yes! We have Kid Time for our Pre-School aged kids below the age of 5 for our volunteers only.
If I serve during the week for 5-7 year olds, but have an older child, what should they do?
Consider having your older child serve with you if they are at least 2 years older than the group you are serving. Older kids can also help out behind the scenes as well. Be sure to talk to Pastor Steve about the best fit for them!
Do I have to attend a training session?
Yep. You do. Here's why: we're a pretty big VBS! We do some things differently than a lot of other churches to make sure our schedule flows smoothly and our kids remain safe in secure in such a large environment. You and any of your kids that you plan to serve with should attend a training so that you know all of the ins and outs of VBS at Severn Run. Plus, we promise it won't be boring :)
